Meet The Pastor
Pastor Roscoe Mason was raised in the Bryan area until his family relocated to Houston. He attended Jack Yates High School and graduated in 1977. A football and track and field athlete, Pastor Mason then attended and graduated in 1982 from Abilene Christian University, with a degree in Health Education. After 28 years of service, Pastor Mason is a retired Texas State Trooper.
His passion for the local church and the call of God is evident in every area of his life. In February 2016, after many years of ministry leadership and 3 years of Pastoring, a new vision was birthed in Pastor Mason’s spirit. Under God’s anointing, and being the obedient servant that he is, Pastor Mason answered that call and became the Founding Pastor of Spirit of Faith Church, Bryan, Texas. With the guidance of God, under Pastor Mason’s leadership, the church has grown tremendously, both spiritually and physically.
Many describe him as a passionate, personable, out-going, and humorous person. His life-application messages are filled with deep Biblical truths and humorous observations from his own experiences. His deep love for Spirit of Faith church family, the outdoors and quality time with his family are also very important to him.
Pastor Mason’s wife Lynda grew up in Abilene, Texas. As a “preacher’s kid”, she was very involved in ministry with her local church youth group. Pastor Mason and Sis. Lynda met each other while in college. They were engaged and married in the summer of 1981. Sis. Lynda is very active with the youth ministry, as well as facilitates the Women’s Bible Study here at Spirit of Faith. Their marriage is the fulfillment of two individuals who God called to serve in ministry and they have done so with much love for God and a deep passion for the people of God, over the past twenty years.
The Masons consider their family to be a priority and enjoy their precious time together. The joy of their marriage has been their 3 children; Daryl (Shon), Derrick (Crystal), and DeeAnn, and 6 of their greatest blessings call them Big Daddy and Nana.
